Are you uncomfortable talking about money and the price of your services or products? It’s not unusual. We are taught from an early age that we do not talk about money! Many business people are reluctant to talk money. As a result, they skirt around the issue or leave it to the end of any conversation, hoping perhaps it will go away.

The biggest challenge is the one in our own head. They will think it is too expensive. They will not have enough money. How can I charge this much. They will find a cheaper supplier. These are all thoughts which swarm around our head, and if we are not careful we end up throwing in discounts before we even start.

Yesterday, we discussed this subject in the business leaders group, and the concept of price v value.

If someone is debating the price, then they cannot see the true value…..

Don’t let price be the elephant in the room no-one is talking about. Bring the subject up honestly, softening the approach, perhaps ask for help, with words like, “can you help me, we need to discuss price, it’s not a subject I am comfortable with, but …..”
